Ponte Vecchio

Bay Ridge Brooklyn has always been popular for the most Churches and Bars in a 2 square mile area. There were over 40 houses of worship covering 10 denominations. There were a countless number of bars. Now there are over 30 Italian restaurants in Bay Ridge.

There are few stand outs but the one with the complete package is Ponte Vecchio. Located on 4th avenue and 88th street this establishment is a combination of the best of both worlds. Years ago, one of the original owners of Ponte Vecchio had partnered with Rino Aprea, an established restauranter and former owner of Areo’s in Bay Ridge. Areo’s was instrumental in transitioning Bay Ridge from a bar hoping destination to a casual dinner, drinks and socializing atmosphere.

Rino’s family experience goes back a generation. He was raised and groomed at his Father’s famous restaurant, Angelo’s of Little Italy. With Rino at the helm Ponte Vecchio status was immediately elevated. The name was shortened to the now infamous P.V.

Walking into this Bay Ridge establishment is an experience. P.V prides themselves on quality and consistency. You can order the Veal Chop any day of the week and it will be the same every time, perfect.

But the food alone isn’t what you go there for;P.V treats everyone like family. Rino has always set the tone. Aside from being a reality show celebrity, Rino has been on many TV cooking segments. His larger-than-life personality and passion for food is a game changer. During the summer P.V.  offers outdoor events such as Comedy Night, Steak Night and other charitable events.

Celebrities dine here frequently but Rino is the only star. The food is always the highest quality and cooked to perfection. The list of weekly regulars is endless, there are even off the menu items named after customers. The Vinny Green calamari is lightly fried with a spicy marina sauce.

Overall P.V is perfect for any occasion, lunch and dinner.
